It's been quite a wait for long suffering Dodge fans as they finally got to see their hero Ian Defley on the podium once again after his return from injury.
The de facto team leader looked fitter than ever and revealed that extra conditioning in the past few weeks had aided his rehabilitation considerably.
"The team managers had told me I'd reached a plateau last season and that was as good as I was going to get," he told assembled reporters, "But the injury break did me good, gave me the chance to take stock of where I was and how I could get that extra edge over my competitors."
The Vuelta Oronz might be yet another Division 5 race as the team dropped back a division after a disastrous few weeks of racing, but Defley was well satisfied with his and the team's second win of the season.
Vance Vinson also grabbed a landmark 7th placing as William Yotsler finished on his tail.
Dodge might be headed back into more difficult territory with more Division 4 races on the horizon, but things look much more rosy as evidenced by the boyish grin on Defley's face after the prize presentation ceremony, "I'm back, folks."
